I love to fly. Wherever, whenever, to no matter what destination. Just love to be in the air. Yet, flying business class is something else. And is not only because the champagne – which is my favorite alcohol and beverage, along with cappuccino. Is to be pampered, travel comfortable and reach the destination fresh and ready to party. Flying business class with Qatar Airways I’ve felt like being home, it felt that cozy.
My flight was from Bucharest-Doha (4,55 hours) and then Doha-Krabi another 6,30 hours. My layover was quite big to explore Doha a little bit taking advantage of the free up to 4 days transit visa for QA customers. So the journey was super easy. Nevertheless, you can have a layover of 2 or 3 hours only, that is plenty to transit Hammad International Airport and to have plenty of time to do some shopping as well.
During the flights, I saw a few new movies, all sipping champagne and other treats, like the Port wine I love so much.
Yes, spoiled indeed. We boarded first and then welcomed and get drinks right from the moment we got into our places. Of course I had champagne and still water and then got ready for a lovely time on board. Got the menus and info about the À la Carte Menu, the drinks menu and the rest of the amenities.
With no exception, the staff was incredible. Incredible attentive, smiling and wonderful in any moment of the journey. The business cabins were all the time full as Qatar Airways frequently upgrades passengers that are in the Privilege Club. Yet we were very well take care off in any moment of the journey.
Cushion, blankets in all of the flights. A bottle of Evian or Vittel still water in addition to what they give whenever you want. Then, for the short flight we received a pouch with mask, socks, comb and ear plugs (although the headphones we got had also sound insulation option). On the 6,5 hours flight we received a Giorgio Armani mini clutch with eye mask, socks, ear plugs, comb, Rituals Lip Balm, Si by Armani 75 ml body lotion and a 10 ml perfume.
In the restrooms were plenty of toothbrush + toothpaste and razors + shaving cream sets. And RITUALS soap, cream and eau de parfum. Actually I discovered these cosmetics flying Qatar and are really good, then visited a store in a Mall in Berlin: really good, natural and perfect for aromatherapy!

Entertainment on board + WiFi
Oryx One’s system with touch screen and also console, of course. Lots of movies, TV shows, games and music.
The LCD’s are pretty big, the seats very comfortable and turn easily from relaxation mood to flat bed and some options as to feel good workinf, watching TV, reading etc.
On Air mobile service, laptop power, plus USB plug. The working area is comfy and had great privacy.
Free WiFi (and very good) for 15 minutes, then 5 US $/hour, 10 $/3 hours or 20$ for the whole journey, on long hauls.
Food and drinks
Well, I simply enjoyed the food in Qatar Airways flight so much. This as there are so many clean options out there. So was totally able to follow my preferred diet, the one that keeps my energy level up: fish, shrimps, vegetables, other lean proteins, fruits. And lemonade, of course. They do have nice desserts as well, I took a photo from what my friend ordered. Then we got Godiva chocolate.
The regular Menu was amazing for me, but then there are so many choices for countless dietary needs one may have, including low calorie menu, for example.
The food is delicious and no wander, as the famous Chef Nobu Matsuhisa spent months adapting the menu taking into consideration how the food alter in high attitude (it gets drier and the taste for some change). The result is awesome.
Cappuccino was delicious, so the tea and the drinks selection generally. Yet I shifted between pink and Brut champagne, with a Port wine break.
And the bread…
