Turcouse waters, lagoons, white sand beaches, traditions, volcanos, lush vegetation, batik and the people! Indonesia is one of the most fascinated countries I have ever visited and one I wish to return ever since I’ve spent a month travelling solo and independent and finding my real self again.
There are 17 000 islands in Indonesia, Java being the most populated island in the world (141 million people) and about the same size of England. On my bucket list are Sumatra island and Borneo, Papua, Raja Ampat and I dream to hike more vlcanos. And to spend some time in Jakarta.
Indonesia is so diverse: had pristine islands, Komodo dragons and volcanos and temples and so much biodiversity (the biggest in the world in Raja Ampat). It is impossible to discover the beauty of this country in just one vacation, especially if you saw Bali only. Actually, Bali was the place that didn’t impressed me much, after I saw Karimunjawa and Java and the Prambanan, Borobudur and other incredible temples.
So far, I have travelled to Java, landing in Jakarta, taking the train to Solo (Surakara). Then a local bus to Yogyakarta. And another to Semarang. Then to Jepara. And a local slow ferry to Karimunjawa.
Then I continued travelling by bus to Surabaya then Probolinggo to Cemoro Lawang then again Probolinggo. After that I arrived in Banyuwangi and Ijen Volcano then Bali with the ferry. Spend some time in Bali in Ubud, Candidasa and Kuta and het back home. Wanting for more!
