Krabi, the beautiful Thai province bordering the Andaman sea and the amazing is a very popular beach and sun destination. With the best weather between December and April, is a perfect getaway to escape the winter.
Caves, waterfalls, temples, beautiful islands, Phang Nga Bay, coral reefs, white sand perfect beaches. Just to name a few attractions. No wonder you don’t know what do and see first.
Forget the City-Break, Take the Thai-break
Believe it or not, I flew from Europe to spend 4 nights and 4 full days in Krabi, Thailand. Nevertheless, we had some long and wonderful layovers in Doha!
We spent one night in Doha and when we returned spent one night in Hamad International Airport Hotel! It was incredible as being an early bird I had the pool all for myself for an hour, seeing the whole airport from above.
Krabi Thailand Break: What To Do In Krabi In 4 Days
Day one: enjoying Koh Lanta island
Upon arrival, we had the transfer by car and ferry to Pimalai Resort and Spa, one of the best resorts in Thailand. The property is magnificent! 6 hectare and only 130 rooms!
Pimalai resort is made of small villas surrounded by flowers and lush vegetation, with two incredible infinity pools and a huge private beach. A real paradise, I was very much impressed by this hotel!
We arrived from a sunny Europe and seeing the fine white sand and the clear waters was so wonderful. Of course the first thing to do was to swim, then enjoy a huge dinner with the most delicious Thai dishes (including sticky rice).
After dinner we went a little while along the beach, where are some bars with a very bohemian atmosphere. Live music, bamboo decorations and close by, a large group of young people singing at the guitar, right on the beach.
They say this part of Koh Lanta, actually Koh Lanta entirely is somehow as Goa used to be. Very refreshing, indeed!
Day two: commuting from Koh Lanta to Ao Nang, beach and pools
Early in the morning I went to enjoy the upper infinity pool, that is seriously gorgeous. It was only me again. I am starting to wonder if only the bloggers wake up so early to catch that perfect sunrise.
We enjoyed the beach and see a little of the island (by car) and commuted to Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf and Spa Resort close to Ao Nang.
The bad thing when you arrive in such a beautiful hotel is that you want to spend some time at the pool, in the lobby, doing activities organised by the resort and so on.
I went straight to the beach after swimming a little in the pool and walked on the beach a lot, till the sunset. It was a glorious sunset and then we had a Mediterranean dinner at the Hotels main restaurant.
Day Three: op on Hop off island tour in Phang Nga Bay
We waked up early and went in a long-tail boat tour in Phang Nga Bay. The limestone karsts islands, rising dramatically from the sea are as spectacular.
We visited the laidback Yao Noi island, a floating fishing farm and a Batick traditional workshop. We enjoyed a delicious sea fruits and fish lunch on a beautiful beach, overlooking the bay and the limestone rocks. Then went in a tiny secluded island for swim.
Around 17:00 we get back at the hotel and in the evening we went in Ao Nang, for shopping, dinner and fun.
I really liked Ao Nang and plan to return for a longer stay. It is full of shops, bars, restaurants, markets, taboo shops, massages and clubs. Among local restaurants you will find pizza shops, Mc Donalds and a Mövenpick ice cream brand restaurant.
Day Four: Tigers Grotte Temple, Jeep Safari, Emerald Pool, Springs
Krabi’s beaches are spectacular, but there is more to explore in this beautiful region. So we had another Day Tour with Krabi Spesialisten company, this time to see the inland Krabi’s beauty.
Arriving on the Tigers Grotte Temple, we climbed all 1237 steps to see the spectacular view. The purpose of this journey is to leave all negative energies behind as you climb.
And to arrive in the top ready to pray and contemplate this beautiful world with gratitude. To go down was easier and there are also the temples in the ground level. And lots of monkeys.
Awesome Thai restaurant
This Thai restaurant is amazing! The place, the service and the food! To Yam, meats, rice, shrimps and ananas fresh juice!
Kao Prak Bang National Park
Kao Prak Bang Park is just one hour drive of Ao Nang. You can easily spend a whole day in here! There are lots of mineral waters pools in the forests. Some of them amazing, as the Emerald Pool.
I spent the evening and the night in Ao Nang, partying till 4 a.m. with some friends from UK that were at the same time in Ao Nang!
Day five: shopping or Railay beach and departure
IWhile I decided to go for a few hours of shopping in Ao Nang and to go to the Ao Nang beach, Cezar, one blogger from our group when to revisit Railay beach. It was plenty of time and now I somehow regret I didn’t went but going to a massage, shopping and swim in the main beach from Ao Nang.
